Exotic turquoise, diamond and 18K gold bar pin, c1860
A lovely speckled turquoise is bezel set on the top of this bar pin. A mine-cut diamond is bezel-mounted above that. There is a sash of rose-cut diamonds around the bar… about 16 diamonds in all. The diamonds are set in silver, as was the custom of that era.
This pin was probably made in England, and it is reminiscent of motifs that came from India. It is a substantial, heavy piece that is sure to be noticed and admired.
Condition: Excellent. We did not clean the natural patina, as many collectors prefer it this way. The choice is yours.
