19th century cinnabar ring
This beautifully carved cinnabar piece is set in a black decorative bezel and mounted on a heavy silver ring. It has the rich vermillion color of 19th century cinnabar resin as well as the fine details one would expect from that era. It was made in China for exported to England.
This is a fun ring. Although the piece is quite old, the lines are simple and not over-worked. It could easily accessorize a black or gray outfit, or would compliment earth tones nicely. It actually has a rather modern look.
Condition: Mint.
Measurements: The ring is not for a big hand. The size is about 6.75. The cinnabar and bezel measure about 1.7 inches in length. Total weight: 36g.
