Sterling silver and black resin choker necklace, Mexico 1950
This classic black and silver necklace looks like onyx, but is lighter than onyx would be. The black is a resin, probably French galalith, which was popular in jewelry in the mid 20th century. The back has a maker’s mark that we have not been able to identify.
For lovers of black and white, this is a wonderful necklace. The shiny black is accented by silver disks at top and bottom, giving the black a little extra eye-appeal. And its light weight is nice because it is very comfortable to wear.
Condition: Excellent. One silver disk has a small dent, and there are some typical scuffs and patina in the silver.
Measurements: The necklace length is 16.3 inches. Each of the 38 “teeth” measures about 0.35 inch. It weighs 75g.
Price: $240.00
