Beautiful Reed & Barton, sterling, art nouveau poppy spoon, c1900
If you love art nouveau silver, you can never have enough poppy spoons. As a collectable maker, Reed & Barton has been inconsistent, but this lovely spoon is an example of their best pieces. The poppies are beautifully designed and exquisitely rendered with deep embossing. Both sides are decorated, and the backside shows the back of each poppy and stem… a concept you don’t see that often.
This spoon is about the size of a dinner spoon, so you can use it for coffee, dessert, serving, whatever.
Condition: Excellent.
Measurements: The spoon measures just under 6 inches long, and weighs 25g.
