Crystal perfume bottle with stylized grape design, Czechoslovakia c1960
Many of these crystal perfume bottles were simply used as dressing table ornaments. That appears to be the case with this one, as there is no scent or color in the bottle. A woman’s dressing table was the one place where lovely feminine accessories were considered a necessity whether they were used or not.
This good-sized perfume bottle is lovely from every angle. It is meticulously cut with beveled edges on the stopper and the bottle. The stopper fits perfectly and has etched sides to form an airtight seal. There’s a pointed tip for applying just the right amount of perfume. The grapes and leaves are carved and etched for a beautiful effect. The glass has a hint of green coloring (not very noticeable in person), which is more visible in the bottle, as the glass is thickest there.
Condition: Excellent. The stopper has a few little “dimples” in the glass.
Measurements: The bottle with stopper measures 7.25 inches high.
