Pair of leather and iron side chairs, Mexico, c1940
No matter how you look at these chairs, the lines are wonderful. The curls of the iron arms and backs create a lovely view from any direction. In Mexico, Blacksmiths made these kinds of chairs. Each one is an individual work of art. When we acquired them, the leather was broken but still attached. So we had it copied exactly, except that we doubled the thickness for strength.
These chairs could work in so many places. They are very comfortable. The black and brown would blend beautifully with neutrals, and they could even fit in a décor with strong colors. Fancy or casual… they seem to fit with so many styles.
Condition: Excellent.
Measurements: The back is 34 inches high. The seat is 18 inches high, and the seat is 22 inches wide.
