Signed pair of WMF silver plated, art nouveau vases, Mackintosh influence, c1900

The most collectable works of WMF are the art nouveau metal pieces produced in the early 1900s. This pair of vases, made of silver-plated pewter with green glass inserts is outstanding. Some of the WMF art nouveau items are more organic, with flowing designs of women and flowers. These are more geometric in a Mackintosh inspired motif, which is more collectable in today’s market. Although WMF had patented a new silver-plating process, you rarely see a piece of silver plated pewter from this era with the silver intact. These are signed “WMF EP” and they have the metal content marks.

These vases get rave reviews in our store. They can be displayed with or without flowers.

Condition: Very good. Normal loss of the silver plating. No breaks or repairs.

Measurements: The vases with the inserts are about 7 inches high.
