Our guarantee: For the most part, the items we sell have some age. We do our best to provide you with the information you need to make an informed purchase on our site. We are always happy to give you more detailed information. Just email us. The items we sell are chosen with the goal of being usable in your home or as a fashion accessory. However, most antiques need to be treated with care; they were never intended for rough use. We will mention if an item needs to be treated with extreme care, so you can decide if it will work with your lifestyle.

We do not remove patina if in doing so we will lower the value of an item. However, we usually reupholster furniture that needs it. We repair veneer and minor surface issues, assuming that the repair won’t lower the value. We generally avoid items with chips, cracks or breaks unless there are special circumstances. We clean, wax, polish, rewire and professionally restore items that will benefit from this work. In our listings, we mention any significant work we have done or any flaws we notice.

Our descriptions are accurate to the best of our knowledge. If you feel we have made an error in a description, please feel to send us information that will help us correct any misstatements. Even when we are very knowledgeable about a particular item, we generally check pricing of comparables to make sure we are setting fair, or better than fair market prices on our items.

Jewelry requires a special mention. We get professional appraisals before we list expensive pieces, especially when a large precious stone constitutes most of the value. And we will send that appraisal with the item. However, when pieces are made with many small stones, accurate appraisals aren’t as practical. A beautiful piece of antique jewelry with small stones is almost always worth more than the value of the stones. An appraiser who specializes in antique jewelry is needed to evaluate these kinds of pieces. Often comparables are often the best guide.

If you want us to have any item appraised before purchasing it, we will certainly be happy to arrange it. We will let you know the cost in advance and put the item on hold during the time it is being appraised. We use only accredited appraisers who specialize in the kinds of items being appraised, and the appraisal will be in writing.

Payment: We currently accept Visa and MasterCard through our secure payment center. If the product isn’t shipping right away, we won’t process the payment until your shipment is ready. If paying by check, we will ship only after the check has cleared.

Shopping-cart errors: In the unlikely event that an item comes into the shopping cart with an error or a computer “glitch” (e.g., reference number, price or description), we reserve the right to correct the error. You will be notified as soon as possible via email, and we will not process the order until we receive your approval to do so. If you notice that a shopping-cart error of any kind occurs when you are processing your order, please notify us via phone or email so we can correct it. If you prefer, we can always process your order on the phone.

Please understand that most of our items are one of a kind. In the event that an item has sold, but is not marked as sold, we will notify you as soon as possible. We apologize in advance if this causes any inconvenience.

Shipping and insurance: We ship via UPS for all items that can be packed in a box. We automatically insure every item we ship. But you should find our shipping costs very reasonable, as we do not use shipping as a profit center. We generally ship twice a week, so please let us know if you need us to expedite your order. All deliveries will require an adult’s signature so keep that in mind when you choose a delivery address.

Please note that our shopping cart program allows only one shipping address per order. If you are sending items to more than one address (gifts, for example), please place separate orders for each shipping address. Feel free to email us if you have special instructions.

Large items will be crated, shipped and insured by a shipper. We use shippers that bring items right to your destination. We will need several days to obtain an accurate shipping cost. We will email you with the shipping cost and get your approval before the sale is put through. Please notify us right away if you need expedited shipping and handling.

We will send your tracking number as soon as we have it. If an item arrives damaged, please notify us immediately and send photos of the product and the packaging. We will take whatever steps are necessary to help get the situation resolved. We will let you know if you can throw the item away or will need to send it back to us.

We supply return labels with all our shipments. All you need to do is repackage it and affix the label. Let us know that it’s ready for pick-up and we’ll take care of the rest. As many of our items are one of a kind, replacement may not be possible. That’s why we insurance everything. If repair is an option, we will do what we can to get that done.

If you pick up an item or make your own arrangements for shipping, Noah’s Lark is not responsible for any damage that occurs after the item leaves our store. Our shopping cart program will bill you for shipping, but we will refund that cost when you pick up.

International shipping: We will contact you with shipping options and costs on large items prior to completion of a sale. The buyer is responsible for any taxes, duties or customs charges that are added at the port of entry. Otherwise, the terms outlined in the “Shipping” section will apply.

Returns: If for any reason, you wish to return a purchase, please notify us within 5 days and repackage it in the original box with the return label we provide. Notify us that the package is ready, and we will arrange a pick-up. Except in special circumstances, agreed upon in advance, returns are accepted for store credit only.

Holding items: We can put items on hold for 14 days. After that, we will return them to our inventory. Please contact us if you have special needs, and we will consider them on a case by case-by-case basis.

Privacy policy: Shop with confidence. Our orders are processed through the secure payment-processing center of our shopping cart program. Your credit card information is encrypted to prevent unauthorized use.

If you choose to set up an account with Noah’s Lark, the information you provide will be used to expedite order processing, but we do not retain your credit card information or share any of our customer’s information with third parties. Occasionally, we will send you notification of new product postings or special offers. You can choose to be removed from the mailing list by simply emailing us.
